Our Guide to the 2014 Midwest Horse Show
December 29, 2013
The 2014 Midwest Horse Fair isn't until April 11th-13th of next year, but we wanted to offer a guide now, since some of the participant deadlines are fast approaching.
Hosted at the Alliant Energy Center in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin, the Midwest Host Fair is one of the most popular, comprehensive equine events all year. The 2014 event will have plenty of special guests, including horsemanship expert Chris Cox, dressage master Steffen Peters, and horse trailer expert David Bodin.
If you would like your horse to participate in a clinic with one of these (or other) experts, the deadline for submissions is just around the corner, January 6th! This is a great opportunity for some hands-on experience with some of the country's best! If you simply want to show off your horse, they are also looking for models for the equine fashion show. Your horse could be showing off the hottest tack for 2014!
For the more practical among you, there will be two nights of PRCA rodeo events, such as steer wrestling, tie-down roping, and barrel racing. If you prefer more showmanship, you'll love Ma'Ceo, a group of daredevil riders who have an incredible relationship with their horses. The Ma'Ceo group has performed with Cavalia, Cirque Du Soleil, and various circuses.
There will also be a blacksmithing competition and activities for kids, among the many attractions packed into the weekend. The fair will feature over 500 exhibitors and 700 horses, with something for everyone.
