Summit Bodyworks, a premier builder of tool trucks, mobile libraries, moving trucks and other specialty vehicles has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Purchasing Agent. In this role, you will be the backbone of our purchasing operations by maintaining flawless data accuracy in our inventory system while learning the fundamentals of manufacturing procurement. Your high-speed, high-accuracy data entry skills will directly prevent production delays and ensure our assembly lines always have the raw material they need.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors to achieve cost savings.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing activities to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Maintain accurate procurement records.
- Evaluate supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, or invoice discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.
- Other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending, or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
- Requires lifting up to 50 pounds frequently
- Requires eye hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment
- Normal range of hearing and vision
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (required)
- Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing
- 1-2 years of experience in data entry, administrative support or a fast paced clerk role. A manufacturing, logistics or purchasing environment is a plus, but not required.
- Willingness to learn manufacturing ERP software (e.g.Netsuite).
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced factory office environment.
- Must have excellent communication and problem solving skills.
- Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment.
JOB DETAILS:
- Type: Hourly
- Shift: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm
- Compensation Range: $22.00 - $26.00
- Bonus Eligibility: No
- Reports To: Plant Manager
