Transwest Trailers supplies the most versatile options in Tags, Tilts and Utility trailers. Tag trailers can be towed by a variety of types of trucks with the appropriate pintle hitch. Tilt trailers are also available for loading equipment that needs a lower load angle.
Construction professionals favor the load capacity and flexibility of both tag and tilt trailers to transport diggers, movers, and heavy equipment. Transwest is the place to purchase your Tag, Utility, or Tilt trailer because we have the experience to ensure that you purchase the right piece of equipment for the long term. If your requirements are better served with a specialized trailer, our team of experts can advise you on the options available and help you get financing if required. You’ll build a relationship with one company that you can trust through the lifespan of your trailer, starting with the sales process to the servicing of your trailer.
A tilt trailer allows you to have a lower load angle, which will allow for easier loading.
A Tag trailer connects to the towing vehicle’s bumper or frame via a pintle hitch. Tag trailers range greatly in size and load capacity. Many of the options available at Transwest can transport tens of thousands of pounds’ worth of specialized equipment.
Tag trailers are often equipped with flip-up ramps at the rear to aid with the loading and unloading of equipment.
A Tilt trailer is designed so that the deck of the trailer is perfectly balanced above the fulcrum (the point upon which the trailer tilts or pivots). When an operator walks from the front of the trailer to the rear, the trailer slowly tilts so that the rear of the trailer moves towards the ground and is ready to easily load a vehicle or other heavy equipment.
When the vehicle being loaded is driven up the Tilt trailer, the deck slowly moves back to the horizontal position. This is all facilitated by axles that are further forward than on a standard tag trailer. Some Tilt trailers have power lift options that use hydraulics to assist in tilting for a heavy load.
Beavertail trailers are a type of tag trailer with a permanent ramp attached to the rear deck. The portion of the ramp that touches the ground when loading and unloading flips up onto the trailer deck, which dips down at the rear (forming the beavertail of its namesake). The retractable ramp matches the length of the beavertail on the tag trailer.
