Exterior Features & Utilities
Storage Bays & Entertainment
The 2023 Emerald Prevost H3-45 quad slide model provides expansive exterior storage. Bay one is a full pass-through with manual slide trays and includes individual lighting and electrical outlets. Bay two, located near the main living area slide-out, features a pull-out table, a 60-inch outdoor TV with a Bose soundbar and subwoofer, and storage for four included chairs. This bay also has USB and standard electrical outlets, often used for cleaning supplies.
Fuel and DEF tanks offer dual-side filling. The fuel tank capacity is a substantial 222 gallons.
Plumbing & Climate Systems
The main plumbing bay provides a convenience outlet and houses a 109-gallon fresh water tank, along with gray and black tanks. The design emphasizes serviceability with accessible 110V and 12V water pumps, a whole-house water filter (which uses readily available cartridges), and a dedicated Culligan filter for drinking water at the kitchen faucet. Dump valves support both traditional methods and connection to a macerator pump, for which a 100-foot hose is provided in an adjacent bay.
The coach features a robust 50,000 BTU hydronic heating system for humidified coach heat and on-demand hot water. Supplemental heat sources include two-zone heated floors, baseboard electric heat, and heat pumps integrated into the four roof-mounted AC units.
Power & Mechanicals
The engine is a D13 500 horsepower Volvo, housed in a large, accessible compartment for routine maintenance. Recent Prevost models incorporate electric radiator fans, which redirects horsepower to the drive axle for improved efficiency. A dedicated generator battery in its own bay is maintained by a roof-mounted solar panel.
Power is supplied by a 20 kW Powertek diesel generator. It's housed on a slide-out tray for service access and is well-insulated for heat and sound reduction.
Serviceability & Connectivity
Multiple touch-screen control panels, identical to those found inside, are strategically placed on the exterior. These allow control of lights, power, ACs, and blinds from outside the coach. A neatly organized and labeled breaker panel, including a similar DC panel with fuses, is also accessible in an exterior bay, simplifying troubleshooting.
The coach is equipped with both Starlink and a dish satellite system. Emergency support includes direct access to Prevost Action Services and a 24/7 Emerald Service Line for anything related to the conversion.
Interior Layout & Comfort
On-Road Access & Slide Operation
With the quad slides retracted for travel, key areas remain accessible: the washer/dryer, a large pantry, the residential refrigerator/freezer, the half bath, and the full galley. The electric slide-outs operate smoothly, deploying with the engine running to ensure continuous power. These slides are engineered by Prevost for precise integration with the coach shell.
Rear Stateroom & Baths
The rear stateroom features two "super slides" which extend to create generous space for the bed and two substantial closets, each with multiple hanging bars and storage drawers. A small safe and an electrical outlet for items like a stick vacuum are integrated. Manual pocket doors provide privacy and remain secure while underway. The spacious rear bath includes storage and an electrical outlet, complemented by two-zone heated floors. A conveniently located half bath also provides adjustable shelving and an electrical outlet.
Galley & Living Area
The galley is designed for extended travel with a residential two-door refrigerator/freezer (with icemaker), a dishwasher, a two-burner Wolf induction cooktop, and a Viking microwave convection oven. A large stainless steel sink includes a dedicated faucet for Culligan-filtered drinking water, served by the exterior whole-house and drinking water filters. A large waste bin is integrated.
The dinette booth provides comfortable seating, and its table can be lowered for additional sleeping space. Overhead storage is available. The living area includes a TV positioned for viewing while traveling. Cross-ventilation is provided by strategically placed vents. The sofa is a motorized jackknife design, extending for additional sleeping and offering storage underneath. Interior control pads, hard-mounted, manage lighting, climate, and blinds.
Command Center & Driving Experience
The cab features heated and air-conditioned ISRI air seats, offering adjustment for comfort. Front and side privacy/blackout shades provide daytime light control and nighttime privacy. A surround camera system gives a comprehensive view around the coach, including an overhead perspective, and integrates with turn signals. The Garmin GPS unit doubles as an XM radio and offers a backup camera with panoramic or hitch-ball views.
The standard Prevost dash ensures familiarity for service centers. A six-position transmission retarder provides up to 300 braking horsepower, complementing the all-wheel air disc brakes, particularly when towing. A Prevost tire pressure monitoring system is included. The steering wheel is tilt-adjustable, and storage and cup holders are within easy reach. Entertainment in the cab includes a dropping TV with a Bose soundbar, a workstation TV, and a large central TV that rises from the dash.
The Bottom Line
This 2023 Emerald Prevost H3-45 Quad Slide stands out for its extensive, Prevost-engineered quad-slide floor plan that creates significant interior space, particularly in the stateroom's "super slide" closets. Notable features include the comprehensive climate control (hydronic heat, heated floors, electric heat, AC heat pumps), substantial tank capacities (222-gallon fuel, 109-gallon fresh water), and the practicality of features like the exterior entertainment setup, accessible service panels, and the multiple control pad locations. The advanced driver aids, including the surround camera system and transmission retarder, enhance the driving experience. The absence of a traditional entry step, relying instead on air leveling, underscores its bus-conversion heritage.
