Its Detroit® DD13 engine with 525 horsepower and 1850 ft. lb. torque pairs nicely with both transmission options: the Allison® TRV4000 electronic 6-speed transmission and the Detroit® DT12 12-speed transmission. While the Explorer’s size is impressive, its powertrain and the support of its chassis also make it easy to handle.

To enhance safety, the Explorer includes the Freightliner® safety assurance package with collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, and a lane departure warning system.
