The 2024 Winnebago View 24D, also known as the Navion, is built on the Mercedes chassis and designed for compact travel while maximizing interior utility. At 25 feet, 8 inches, its length is comparable to a long-bed pickup truck, allowing access to national parks and easier parking. This model offers sleeping for up to six people.
The View 24D utilizes a Mercedes chassis powered by a 2-liter high-output turbo diesel engine paired with a 9-speed transmission. Key systems include an onboard propane generator and solar panels. An important design consideration is a clear walking path even when the slide-out is retracted.
The front dinette serves as one of three sleeping areas. Its table drops down to form a sturdy bed capable of accommodating adults, not just children. The opposing TV position makes it suitable for viewing or family games. Overhead storage features lined cabinets with lighting, designed to prevent items from shifting and reduce noise during travel. The dinette also includes two extra seatbelts and a discreet footrest that can serve as a small child's seat or additional storage.
Mid-cabin, a sofa provides another comfortable seating area. This converts into a bed with a notably fast, five-second deployment system. It is designed to allow bedding to remain in place when folded away, simplifying setup and breakdown. Above the sofa are two storage bins with reading lights, and both 110V outlets and USB ports are provided on either side of the bed. Even with the bed extended, there's still room to access the bathroom and refrigerator.
The galley begins with a full-extension pantry featuring pull-out drawers and an upper shelf. Below the counter, a dedicated panel houses the breaker box and winterizing connections, with clear step-by-step guides. The refrigerator and freezer are conveniently located, with an overhead control panel for solar, generator start/stop, battery levels, tank levels, and water pump. This panel also includes the slide-out control, inverter controller, and a holding tank heater to prevent freezing.
The cooktop is a practical split design, offering one induction burner and one propane burner, allowing for versatile cooking options. Kitchen drawers are full-extension, lit when opened, and offer ample storage. A convection microwave oven handles baking and crisping. Sink covers double as bamboo cutting boards. Beneath the dual stainless steel sink, the open design provides maximum storage space and houses a whole-house water filter. All cabinet doors feature push-button locks to secure contents during travel.
Windows in the kitchen area are made of glass and slide open, providing traditional airflow compared to outward-opening acrylic styles. For heat resistance, the kitchen area features metal blinds, while the rest of the coach uses MCD roller shades. A roof access port behind the TV simplifies adding a satellite dish.
The entry door incorporates a built-in screen door. The third sleeping area is the over-cab bed, which can be easily flipped away when not in use. When deployed, it offers a wide sleeping space that can accommodate individuals over six feet tall. It includes its own reading light, plug-ins, and a privacy curtain, accessible via an included ladder.
The bathroom offers a functional space for a unit of this size. It includes a dedicated hanging closet, which also stores extra cushions and an additional table. A significant feature is the tankless water heater, providing a continuous supply of hot water.
The 2024 Winnebago View 24D distinguishes itself with its compact, national park-friendly length, versatile sleeping for up to six, and thoughtful practical features. Key differentiators include the quick-deploying mid-cabin bed that accommodates bedding, the innovative dual-fuel cooktop (induction and propane), and the continuous hot water supply from its tankless heater. The glass sliding windows and strategically designed storage add to its practical appeal for active RV shoppers.
