The exterior features a "Frosted Granite" paint scheme with a lighter top color, intended to help the coach run cooler in hot climates. It is equipped with three 15,000 BTU AC units, each functioning as a heat pump, providing robust climate control. A blacked-out package extends to the handles, American Racing wheels, mirrors, and headlights. The bonded windshield is designed to minimize wind noise during travel.
Accessible from an exterior bay, a 10,000-watt Cummins Onan generator rolls out for easy maintenance, including wiper fluid access. The coach rides on Michelin 295/80/22.5 tires and features a ZF independent front suspension, which aims to improve ride comfort by isolating bumps. Upgraded 6-volt AGM batteries are housed on a slide tray, offering maintenance-free power. A 3,000-watt inverter is present, along with clearly labeled circuit breakers for house functions like the power cord reel, allowing for quick resets without finding fuses.
One bay includes a large, deep slide tray that extends in both directions for flexible access. A "massive" storage bay offers considerable height, width, and depth, with an option for an additional slide tray. The wet bay features water-jetted labels for durability, external tank level indicators, a fresh water filter, soap dispenser, and a hot/cold outdoor shower. The fresh water hose reel is manual pull with power-in functionality. The Aqua Hot hydronic heating system provides continuous hot water and acts as the coach's furnace; its fill and filter are easily accessible. The unit also includes HWH hydraulic four-point leveling. An integrated ladder in a slide-out door provides convenient roof access. The coach is built on a Freightliner XSH PowerGlide chassis, a Tiffin-designed chassis recently acquired by Freightliner. The rear features a 50-amp power cord that is manual pull with power-in. A 10-gallon DEF tank includes a convenient external gauge.
The cockpit includes controls for hydraulic leveling, city/truck horns, automatic traction control, and a tag axle dump for tighter turns. Heated power mirrors are standard, along with USB-A and USB-C charging ports. An auxiliary start button uses house battery power to jump-start the chassis batteries if needed. The digital dash displays fuel and DEF levels. A step cover creates a flush floor for the passenger area. Dual shades (solar and night) and a generator start button are present. A "radio camera" button allows camera and radio operation without the engine running. A dedicated slot for a phone and additional storage are provided. Keyless entry with a customizable pin code and two key fobs offer remote control for entry and cargo locks, and exterior lights.
Wireless buttons control the slide-outs. The 44OH floorplan emphasizes a "true separation of space" with the dinette and kitchen distinct from the living room. The captain's and co-captain's chairs swivel to integrate into the living area, forming a circular seating arrangement. The theater seating is 110-volt powered and includes a middle console with cup holders, USB-A ports, and power outlets. A televator brings the main TV up from a cabinet. The jackknife couch converts into a bed and, along with the dinette, contributes to a total of seven seatbelts, accommodating a larger group.
The kitchen features solid surface countertops and a large window above the counter. It includes dual 120-volt outlets and two USB-A ports. An all-electric induction cooktop and an LG microwave are standard. The cabinetry is described as "Sandstone" with a notable grain and texture. The heated tile floors offer variable settings for personalized comfort. A central control panel manages slides, fan vents, and allows locking of exterior cargo bays and the entry door. This panel also allows users to change the exterior keypad pin code.
The bedroom features solid surface flooring, with no carpet. A king bed is flanked by windows, and bedside control pads manage climate and generator operation, and display tank levels. Overhead cabinets are deep. Numerous 120-volt, USB-A, and USB-C outlets are available throughout the room. The bedroom door is an exposed wood grain design, offering full privacy when closed.
The rear bathroom has a wide doorway. It features a vanity sink with chevron tile, and a deep, custom-built medicine cabinet. The shower has no visible seams at the base or walls and includes the AquaView system, which preheats water before it reaches the showerhead to conserve water. A porcelain toilet features accessible plumbing behind a panel. The rear walk-in closet includes overhead lighting, a hanging rack, a stackable washer and dryer, and an adjustable shelf. A very accessible 120-volt power panel and fuse/breaker box are located in the closet, allowing for upright access and easy troubleshooting of components like floor heating.
The 2026 Tiffin Phaeton 44OH has an Unloaded Vehicle Weight (UVW) of 39,867 pounds, a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 46,000 pounds, and an Occupants and Cargo Carrying Capacity (OCCC) of 6,133 pounds. The Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) is 56,000 pounds. Tank capacities include a 100-gallon fresh water tank, a 100-gallon gray water tank, and a 55-gallon black water tank.
The 2026 Tiffin Phaeton 44OH stands out for its deliberate floorplan with true separation of living spaces and a convenient mid-ship half bath. Key differentiators include the advanced Aqua Hot hydronic heating, variable-setting heated tile floors, the Tiffin-designed PowerGlide chassis (now Freightliner XSH), and numerous thoughtful practical touches like the external DEF gauge, integrated ladder, and easily accessible fuse panel in the walk-in closet. These features, combined with the comprehensive power and storage solutions, make it a strong contender for those seeking extended, comfortable travel.
