The rear of the EKKO 23B offers versatile sleeping and ample storage. The twin beds measure 30 inches by 80 inches each, providing comfortable length. They can be configured with an insert to create a wider sleeping surface, approximately 80 inches across, accommodating taller individuals without feet hanging off. Storage includes a deep cabinet at 30 inches deep by 15 inches wide, and a drawer measuring 13 inches deep, 25 inches long, and 4.75 inches high. Connectivity is robust, with 110V, Type A and C USB, and 12V outlets on both sides of the bed, plus dedicated reading lights with blue or white light options.
The main cabin features the Truma system for climate and water control. Lighting is a mix of push-button puck lights and switch-controlled larger fixtures, including ducted air conditioning by GE Profile, which is noted for its quiet operation. A curtain provides separation for the sleeping area. The flexible dinette area can serve as a third seat, measuring around 24 inches wide and 81 inches long. It transforms from a forward-facing seat with a three-point seatbelt and a lap belt into a couch or a table setup for dining or games. The table stores conveniently in a dedicated cubby.
Above the refrigerator, a central control panel offers access to the propane generator start/stop and the Intrex inverter. Water tanks are generous, with both fresh and gray water tanks rated at 51 gallons each.
The kitchen is equipped with a large refrigerator for a van chassis, complete with a real freezer and a quiet "night mode" setting. Counter space is practical, measuring 24 inches deep and 18 inches tall, with an extension for additional prep area. The unit includes an induction cooktop and a microwave convection oven, providing full cooking capabilities unlike some smaller models. Kitchen storage features adjustable shelves and large drawers.
The bathroom is a highlight, featuring a cassette toilet with a real flush and sensor. This design allows the coach to be used even when winterized, with the option to manually add water for flushing. Each cassette holds 5.3 gallons, and multiple cassettes can be carried for extended off-grid trips. The shower space offers good headroom and includes a wand and a bamboo drain. A specific "whale pump" system located in an exterior bay handles draining the shower water to the gray tank.
The EKKO 23B is built on the updated Mercedes Sprinter AWD chassis, powered by a 2.0L high-output turbo-diesel 4-cylinder engine. Its dimensions are a key differentiator for maneuverability: 24 feet, 8 inches long; 10 feet, 10 inches high; and a notably compact 7 feet, 2.5 inches wide, allowing it to fit into standard parking spots.
Exterior storage includes a heated, full-width gear garage in the rear, perfect for larger items like bikes or skis. This garage features new latches with a visual indicator for open/closed status and an e-coated interior for enhanced rust prevention. Tie-down tracks are present in all four corners. A versatile MOLLE panel can be used both inside and outside the coach for organizing gear. The EKKO 23B comes with two awnings: a power extend/retract unit with a wind sensor for automatic retraction, and an Alu-Cab bat wing 270 awning for extensive shade.
The power system is significantly upgraded for off-grid capability. It features a 2800-watt propane generator and a single 630-amp-hour Lithionics battery, nearly doubling previous capacities. This pairing allows for extended use of amenities, including the air conditioning, without requiring shore power or constant driving to recharge. The roof hosts a robust solar array totaling 530 watts (two 215W panels and one 100W panel). An external solar port is also available for portable panels, useful when parked in shaded areas.
The water bay provides an outdoor shower, a freshwater connection, and a gravity fill option for adding water from containers. All water tanks are housed within an insulated compartment for four-season use. A dedicated port allows for routing a Starlink cable to keep the main unit protected inside.
The 2026 Winnebago EKKO 23B distinguishes itself through its updated Mercedes Sprinter AWD chassis, designed for both capability and compact maneuverability. Its enhanced power system, combining a 630-amp-hour Lithionics battery with a 2800-watt propane generator, offers considerable independence for off-grid exploration. Practical features like the heated gear garage with e-coating, the functional cassette toilet system for winterized use, and smart interior layouts make it a strong contender for buyers prioritizing four-season functionality and extended adventures without compromise on a smaller footprint.
