Ram 5500 Diesel Chassis

The Arka is built on the Ram 5500 with a 6.7L Cummins I-6 diesel engine paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It comes standard with a 4x4 and is available in regular or crew cab configuration. The chassis carries a GVWR of 19,500lbs and a GCWR of 43,000 lbs, with a 15,000 lb rated trailer hitch for those who need to bring additional equipment. The dual alternators produce a combined 480 amps which is a critical detail because that output feeds directly into the Arka's EcoFlow power hub while the vehicle is moving. The fuel tank holds 52 gallons of diesel and the wheelbase measures 197.4 inches. On the safety side, the Ram 5500 chassis comes with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, drowsy driver detection and electronic stability control as standard.
Electrical System

Traditional RV electrical systems run at 12V. The Arka runs at 48V through the EcoFlow Power hub which is a higher voltage that means lower current for the same wattage, less heat in the wiring and more efficient delivery to the 3,600-watt inverter. The hub integrates solar input, alternator charging, AC-to-DC conversion and inverter output into a single manager system monitored through the WinnebagoConnect or the companion mobile app. Shore power connects via a 30-amp SmartPlug detachable cord. Outlets throughout the coach include 120V AC, 12V USB-A and USB-C, and 12V cigarette lighter-style ports. Lighting is dimmable LED throughout, with an exterior amber porch light that includes a dark sky red setting. Connectivity is handled by a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and satellite internet prep with both exterior and interior connection points. A roof wiring access port accommodates future additions.
Heating & Cooling System

The Arka uses the Elwell Timberline hydronic heating system rather than a propane furnace. A hydronic system circulates heated water through the coach floor the result is even, consistent heat that doesn't dry out the air, with no open flame and no propane involved. Because the Timberline handles both space heating and hot water in a single unit, there is no separate water heater tank. Hot water at the shower is continuous and there is no wait for a tank to reheat.
Heating zones are separate and controlled through WinnebagoConnect. The Pioneer heat recovery ventilation system manages humidity and fresh air circulation without simply venting heat outside which is important for cold-weather camping where maintaining interior temperature matters. Roof vents are fitted with insulated thermal covers, and air conditioning prep is standard for those who want to add the optional SDG 48V split system.
Interior

The 20Z interior measures 7'3" wide and 6'8" tall throughout the coach. Cabinetry is aluminum construction with soft-close hinges and compression latches. Windows are dual-pane euro acrylic, top-hinged, with thermal and privacy covers that include integrated zippered insect screens. All interior panels use Azdel composite backing, which is lighter than wood and resistant to moisture and mold. The galley kitchen runs solid-surface countertops with a flip-up extension for additional prep space, with galley countertop accent lighting. The refrigerator is a Norcold 6.2 cu. ft. 12V two-door unit with a drawer freezer. Cooking is handled by a NuWave 1,400-watt portable induction cooktop. The bath includes a 24" × 38" shower with 76" of ceiling height, a bamboo floor mat, a folding seat, a quick-connect shower head, and a retractable screen privacy door. Floorplan on the Winnebago Arka

The 20Z is the current floorplan for the Arka. Moving from rear to front: the gear garage occupies the full rear height, followed by the bath on the driver's side, the galley running along the passenger side, and the dinette lounge at the front. The WinnebagoConnect control panel sits between the galley and the bath for access from anywhere in the coach. The optional over-cab sleeping module converts the front cap storage area into a dedicated bedroom complete with its own skylight and two fabric overhead storage cabinets. Adding this module does not change the galley, bath, or garage layout below. Bed size is selected at time of order.
Exterior and Insulation

The Arka's wall panels are rated R-12, with R-15 for both the roof and the floor. All interior panels use Azdel composite backing, which is lighter than wood-based materials and doesn't absorb moisture or develop mold over time. Exterior compartments are durable metal construction. The full-height double backwall doors are side-hinged for wide access. The entrance door is well-insulated with a dual-layer screen. The entrance steps are self-storing and pull out to even heights with treads for safe entry. A collapsible ladder gives roof access, and the roof-mounted rack is already prepped for both solar panel mounting and awning attachment. Cab steps are standard.
Plumbing System

The Arka carries a 60-gallon fresh water tank and a 40-gallon gray tank. Both tanks are heated and insulated, protecting the water supply in freezing conditions without a seperate tank heater add-on. Fresh water is treated by the Guzzle H2O UV purification system before use. Brass fittings are used throughout the water lines. The shower runs continuous hot water through the Elwell Timberline hydronic system. Water pump switches are accessible at the galley, the bath, the exterior water service center, the monitor panel, and through the WinnebagoConnect app. The Thetford cassette toilet holds 4.75 gallons in a removable sealed cartridge. It pulls out through an exterior access door and can be emptied at any standard toilet, campground restroom, or dump station.
Sleeping Configurations

The Arka sleeps up to four people depending on which dinette module is selected and whether the optional over-cab sleeping module is added. The standard side-to-side dinette converts to a 54" × 75" or 48" × 75" sleeping surface using the dual swivel height-adjustable tables. The optional U-shaped dinette module widens the sleeping surface to 60" × 75" and seats more people at meals. The optional over-cab sleeping module offers three bed size choices: Queen at 60" × 80", King at 72" × 80", or two Twin beds at 30" × 80" each with individual nightstands.
WinnebagoConnect - Control and Monitoring

WinnebagoConnect does more than display tank levels and control the lights. The 10” touchscreen and its companion app give real-time pitch and roll readings which are useful both on trail and when leveling at a campsite without leveling jacks. The app includes an integrated inclinometer so you can drive slowly into position and know exactly when the coach is level before you stop. Smart energy management is built in and WinnebagoConnect monitors indoor and outdoor conditions and adjusts power and climate systems automatically to optimize efficiency based on current conditions. This runs without any manual input. The Pet Minder feature maintains a set temperature range inside the coach when you’re away from it, with app alerts if the interior temperature moves outside that range. Mobile door lock control lets you lock or unlock the cabin from anywhere with a connection. Push notifications and maintenance reminders cover system alerts and scheduled upkeep, and over-the-air updates keep the system current without a service visit. Importantly, the app works with offline pairing support. Core monitoring and control functions operate locally over the coach’s own network without requiring a cell signal or internet connection.
